Congleton Culture

The Daneside Theatre is used by many local groups who put on a number of performances throughout the year such as Congleton Players Amateur Theatre Club, Congleton Operatic Society, Trinity Amateur Operatic Theatre, Congleton Amateur Youth Theatre and Congleton Pantomime and other local dance groups. The theatre is also home to the cinema and has regular film nights.
The town council owns some Civic Artefacts which are available to view by appointment. These artefacts are a Town Mace made in 1651, a Mayoral Chain made of gold and diamond Mayoress Chain with gold and diamonds, The chrome Ships Bell from the submarine Conqueror which took part in the Faulklands conflict in 1982. There are a number of historical documents.
Congleton Museum located behind the town hall, is filled with information and items relating to the history of Congleton.
